Choosing what to wear for an all white studio session can feel like a lot—but I promise, it doesn’t have to be.
In my Pullman WA studio, everything is designed to feel calm, clean, and simple… which means what you wear becomes part of the overall feel of your images. And the goal is never to overcomplicate it—it’s actually the opposite.
Simple always wins here.
In an all white studio, there’s nothing competing for attention. No busy backgrounds, no bold colors pulling your eye in different directions.
Which means…
I always tell my clients—we’re not trying to match perfectly. We’re creating something that feels soft, cohesive, and natural together.
In my studio, I find that soft, neutral tones photograph the most beautifully.
Think:
These tones reflect light in such a flattering way and keep everything feeling timeless.
From there, we can lean into the overall feel you want your images to have.
If you’re drawn to something more relaxed and natural:
If you want something a little more elevated:
Both photograph beautifully—it just depends on the story you want your images to tell.
I always start with mom’s outfit first—because everything builds from there.
In my studio, flowy dresses tend to photograph the most beautifully. They move well, they’re flattering, and they create that soft, effortless feel that works so well in a white space.
But more than anything?
I want you to feel like yourself
Whether that’s more relaxed or a bit more dressed up, we’ll build around what feels right for you.
With little ones, I always lean simple.
Barefoot is always perfect.
Especially for milestone sessions, I find that the less we add, the more their personality really comes through—and that’s always the part parents love most.
Since we’re keeping colors simple, texture is where the interest comes in.
In my studio, I love:
It gives your images depth without ever feeling busy.
To keep everything feeling clean and timeless, I always recommend staying away from:
And one that surprises people a little—
Ripped or distressed clothing (like jeans with holes).
Even though it feels casual, those details tend to pull your eye right away and can distract from what we really want you to see first—your faces and your connection.
You’re never expected to figure this out on your own.
Before your session, I help guide you through what will photograph best so everything feels cohesive and intentional. I’m always thinking about how your images will look not just in the moment—but on your walls, in your home, years from now.
Because this isn’t just about what you wear for an hour…
It’s about what you’ll be looking at every day.
An all white studio session is meant to feel simple, calm, and focused on what matters most.
And when everything comes together—the light, the wardrobe, the connection—it creates something that feels effortless and lasting.
